I think it is about time to share some photos from our 2014 Halloween. It was a fun one but then again, when is Halloween not fun? Since becoming a mom it has become one of my favorite Holidays. I’m not a big fan of the “scary” stuff but I do like to see my kids get excited about playing dress up. And the candy. How can you not love the candy?!
Since it has been rather warm this Fall, we waited to carve our pumpkins until the Wednesday before Halloween. Rotten pumpkins just aren’t quite as fun.
In years past, we have all collaborated to come up with an idea of what we wanted our Jack-O-Lanterns to look like and let Lance do the carving. He is actually quite talented at carving free hand.
This year however, the kids really wanted to design and carve their own pumpkins. We did offer a tiny bit of help since there was a sharp tool involved but overall, they did a darn good job themselves.
Camryn decided on a classic Jack-O-Lantern and Liam wanted his to look like Frankenstein.
While I think it is fun for my kids to dress up, I have never been one to go all out with my own Halloween costumes. This year was no exception. I did manage to get into the spirit though by pulling out my non maternity Halloween shirt and becoming a human Jack-O-Lantern. I think it works with the belly, don’t you?!
Let’s all take a moment to recognize how cute this little punkin’ is y’all. Eeeek!!! She is the sweetest and makes me excited to be holding my own baby soon. Very, very soon!!
My kids are all about picking out their own Halloween costumes and I am more than okay with that. We do Wal-Mart costumes and thankfully, my kids are more than happy with those.
Camryn decided she wanted to be Apple White this year. Who? Yeah, I knew you would be asking! It is a fictional character from a set of dolls and she is supposed to be grown up Snow White’s daughter. Liam chose to be Raphael from the Ninja Turtles. I saw a lot of those this year but Elsa still had it beat as most popular costume.
Okay, the zombie children kind of freak me out. Not my favorite thing but I realize it is all done in fun…..
The night ended with tired children and buckets full of candy.
