Oops, I did it again(finish singing in your best Britney voice……). I took a hiatus from the blog after I made it a goal to NOT do that. I could come up with a hundred excuses as to why(and they are probably legit) but really, it is what it is.
But hey, I’m here now and I am ready to give a life update. Anybody out therrrrrrre?!
We are officially moved into our new house and are absolutely thrilled to have a place to call “home” again!
I hope I won’t come off as sounding bratty but there for a while it was rough y’all. I realize that people live in tiny spaces every day and make it work just fine but when you aren’t used to it, it can certainly take a toll. And it did. It’s a great feeling to have a little bit of breathing room again. But mostly, having a large outdoor space for the kids to play in again is just awesome!
We have been in our house for a little over a month now so we are mostly settled in at this point.
There is still plenty decorating to be done because A.) I’m awful at it and very indecisive and B.) I want to take my time and buy decor pieces that I really love rather than just slapping something on the walls or on a shelf. 3.) Money. Moving is expensive.
All three of my kids are growing at lightening speed and sometimes, my heart just can’t take it. I think this happens to me every year as the school year comes to a close. You just realize how quickly time flies and there is no slowing it down. I will soon have a 6th grader, a 3rd grader, and a 1.5 year old. Wasn’t I just announcing my pregnancy and birth story the other day?
As for me, it’s pretty much the same ol’ same ol’. I’m trying really hard to stick to a fitness routine(that’s the easy part) and to eat healthy foods more than not. I’m not going to lie, in the process of moving, I let my diet slip a little bit and it’s time to reel it in. While I enjoy a good salad my taste buds have come to prefer easy and tasty foods like pizza, fries and cookies. But then again, who doesn’t?! While I enjoy the indulgent foods(I refuse to call any food “bad”) it leaves me feeling like crap physically and emotionally. Bloated and lacking energy isn’t my idea of a good time. So, I guess what I am trying to say it that while my fitness routine has been good my diet has been crap which in turn makes me feel like crap. What they say about abs(and thighs, arms and butts) being made in the kitchen is true. Its time to hop back on the moderation train!!
I also cut my hair recently and I don’t love it. I had grown tired of my long hair as I just felt weighed down by it. It was lacking style and fixing it had become a real pain in the you know what. Plus, I just felt the need for something fresh so I went for it. I took a picture of a long bob into my hair stylist and somehow I came out with an angled bob that was far above my shoulders!
Is it hideous? Probably not but damn, it has me missing my longer hair! Thank goodness I’ve never been one to freak out over haircuts because hello, it will grow but the waiting process isn’t fun. But hey, I wanted something new and I definitely got it!!
We will just call that the cliff notes version of the last couple of months and leave it at that. Hopefully, now that life has settled down a bit, I will get back to blogging a little more regularly. While it can be time consuming it is also offers a little time for me. I’m no author by any means but I do enjoy writing and sharing about the going on’s in my little life.
Thanks for playing catch up, friends!
