I am ready for Fall y’all!! Specifically, Fall clothing. While I do love a good tank top and pair of flip-flops, I’m just over them for the time being. I feel like I’ve worn my Summer wardrobe out this year and well, it’s time to move on.
Blogtember’s prompt for the day: Creating a mood board. I knew it was going to be Fall related but I wasn’t sure if I was more in the mood for home decor or Fall clothing. All it took was going to my closet this morning to 100% decide that a clothing mood board was the way to go. There are a couple of problems though. 1. The weather. Texas seems to think it should never drop below 90 degrees. 2. My budget. I can’t afford to have champagne taste on a beer budget. Lucky for me, there are TONS of cute clothing at affordable prices all over the internet and in stores these days. While I don’t mind splurging on a classic item that will last for years, I try to stick to more affordable options when I’m not sure how long a trend will last.
This blog post does include affiliate links to items I have either purchased or am interested in. If you click on a highlighted link, it may result in a very small commission to me.
Sweaters: J Crew Factory has the cutest sweaters right now! From solids to stripes and cute little animal designs. I may have to purchase a few of these. Also, if any of my friends and family are reading, this is the perfect Christmas gift. I’ll take a small, please!
Military Inspired Clothing: I actually picked up these super cute(and buttery soft) cargo skinnies a few weeks ago during a sale. Olive seems to be a very “on trend” color for Fall and well, I’ve never shied away from a good pair of cargos!
Blanket Scarves: I’m going to be honest, I’ve not been a huge fan of scarves over the past few seasons. I think they are adorable on other people but when it comes to wearing them myself, I feel like they just don’t do me any favors. Still, these blanket scarves are more than “just a scarf” so I’m going to see it as more of a multi-purpose accessory. I think I will be applauding myself for purchasing this budget friendly scarf when I’m watching my son play football. Not only will I be warm, but I’ll be looking cute, too!
Booties: Oh my goodness, this has to be the number one Fall clothing item I am excited about this year. I. Love. Booties! They are so cute with skinny jeans, skirts, dresses, jeggings….you name it! Plus, they are a whole lot easier to get on than tall boots. Not that I’m knocking tall boots because I have a pair of Frye’s that I adore(definite investment) and will wear plenty this coming season. I tried on this pair of Chukka style booties at Target last night and all I can say is YESSSS! And guys, only $34.99. What?! They will be mine.
Moto Leggings: These moto-style leggings are just so edgy and fun. From reviews that I have seen, they also seem to be super comfy and while they are leggings, they seem to have a jean-like structure. All I know is that chasing around a toddler is always easier when wearing leggings vs jeans.
Now, excuse me while I go and search for a few more pieces of clothing to update my Fall wardrobe because I’m definitely……in the mood!!
What are your must have Fall clothing pieces this year?
Favorite season to dress for? Mine is definitely Fall but I dread dressing for Winter. Yuck!
