Whew, what a week! I’ve been down with a cold all week-long and I just now feel starting to feel a bit better although I’m still not 100%. I’m definitely going to take advantage of this weekend and get in some rest and relaxation.
In the meantime, I thought I would jump right into this Friday Favorites and share some things that I’m loving, lately.

Yesterday, I got Botox! I had a skin care consultation at a local medical spa because I was interested in possibly having a chemical peel done on my face to help give me a more fresh, renewed look. Well, it turns out that they recommended I start with Retin A and if I’m not happy with the results from using that, then I should schedule an appointment for a peel. Sounds good to me! Of course, while I was there, I HAD to inquire about Botox for my very deep frown lines or “11’s” as I like to call them. They were offering a nice little discount for first time patients and honestly, Botox is something I’ve been wanting for a looooong time so I treated myself to it. I’m still not sure if I will continue the upkeep but I’ll make that decision when the time comes. For now, I feel quite happy with my decision and can’t wait for the results to kick in over the next 7-14 days. Stay tuned for some before and after pictures!
Fall Fashion Finds
Even though it feels far from Fall like temps here in Texas, I couldn’t help but check out two of my favorite budget-friendly stores for some cute pieces to update my wardrobe.
Let’s start with Old Navy!
My main reason for hitting up Old Navy was to find a dress to wear for our upcoming family pictures. I figured if I could get my outfit chosen, I could then work around that and coordinate the rest of the family.
I ended up choosing this wine colored shirt dress which will be perfect not only for pictures but for wearing throughout Fall with booties, flats or riding boots.
I also ended up purchasing this adorable embroidered tie neck tunic. I absolutely adore this style of top. Paired with a cute pair of jeans, like the destructed ones in the photo and you have a super stylish but cute and comfy outfit for running errands and even for a casual night out!
After spending way too long in Old Navy(they have some seriously cute stuff right now), I made my way to my most favorite store. Target! I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed here just because I had already done a bit of “window shopping” online. I love the convenience of buying online but there is just something I enjoy about trying things on in person. Many times I will try on for fit and then wait for a killer sale and purchase online. Hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do when living on a budget!
I quickly found a couple of staple pieces along with a super cute pair of boyfriend jeans(sooooo comfy) and a military style vest that is super on trend right now. I just love that all of these pieces will take me out of that stay-at-home mom frumpy phase, while still being comfortable to hang around in. That is key when you are running after children all day!
I used to love a good pumpkin spice latte but lately, my taste for all things pumpkin has kind of disappeared. While some may say that’s a good thing(if you are uncomfortable with being #basic…I embrace it), I kind of enjoyed looking forward to consuming so much pumpkin that I didn’t want to look at or taste it for another 10 months. Though my taste for pumpkin may be wavering, my love for pumpkin scented stuff is alive and well. I purchased these wax warmers at Kohls and they are the best. I cannot stand when I buy a wax melt and within hours, the scent has more or less disappeared. I can “burn” one of these for days on end before I need to replace it with a new one!
And finally, I’m loving my little guy’s new Preschool! Well, technically it is a Mothers Day Out Program but for the sake of a two-year old, we call it preschool!
The first week was a little rough. I mean, overall he did really, really well considering he has NEVER spent time away from me without his siblings around. Even then, it had only happened a handful of times for the occasional date night. The day of drop off Lane didn’t shed a single tear. He was just really excited! Of course, when he learned that he was staying for five hours, things went a bit downhill. He was so relieved to see me on the first day that he burst into tears when I picked him up. Cue, the knife to my heart!
Since then, he has shed a couple of tears at drop off but nothing major at all. His teacher has been awesome at giving updates and he adores her. My son is not the most affectionate little fella(just ask my friends) but on Tuesday he went up to his teacher while she was playing on the ground with him and wrapped his arms around her for a giant bear hug, That sold me! If my little shy guy is giving lovin’ away to someone other than me, I know he is in the best of hands!!
