I have a blog but I definitely do not consider myself a blogger. I’m ready to change that!
After nearly a year of neglecting this little space(do I have ANY followers left out there?!), I’m ready to get back at it. I’d love to explain why I quit blogging but honestly, I don’t even know the answer. Oh wait, yes I do. I let life get in the way. It’s as simple as that. The funny thing is, I originally started this blog because I wanted a space(needed is more like it) to be more than “just a mom”. I always feel a little shitty saying that but the truth is, being a full-time stay at home mom is hard work. At least for me. That’s not to say that I don’t love it or that I don’t feel blessed to be doing it. However, before I was a mom, I was a wife and before I was a wife I a single woman with interests that expanded beyond my family.
My family will always be numero uno in my book! They are my heart and the core of who I am. They are not, however, all that I am. I love to indulge in reading books, fitness keep me sane(and hopefully from looking like a frumpy almost 40-year-old), date nights with my husband keep me feeling engaged and connected, a cute outfit makes me feel confident, traveling is good for my soul, friendships keep me feeling youthful and allow for much-needed girl talk. I want this blog to reflect all of that!
I will say that lots of great things happened over the past year. I may have been in mom mode for much of it but I definitely had some amazing moments along the way. With my family and without them. I was able to travel and take several trips and oh my goodness, were they much-needed.
New York City happened last November and it was better than I even imagined it would be. If you haven’t been and you’ve been dreaming of going, just do it!
Our first Christmas in our new house was magical.
A quick Spring break trip to Austin and San Antonio with our kids was so much fun!
Birthday celebrations for all!
We took a relaxing beach vacation to Perdido Key, Florida. Okay, maybe not totally relaxing with three kids but as close as you can get. Ha!?
A quick weekend girls getaway to Chicago was much-needed and SO much fun.
Of course, all of that traveling has only fueled my desire to travel MORE but I’m going to have to be content for now because well……funds!
Now that we are mostly caught up, I hope to keep this trend going. I can’t say for sure how often I will be posting other than to strive for a “regular basis” which if I’m being realistic will probably be two to three times per week.
With my big kids being in school and Lane starting a Mothers Day Out program twice per week I should have a little time to focus on doing more of the “me time things”!
Now, its your time to tell me, what type of posts do you most enjoy reading? Fitness, food(as in what I ate), recipes, “coffee talk”, motherhood posts, book reviews, mom style or just a little bit of everything?
