TGIF!!! No, but really, thank goodness for Friday!
Wednesday started out great but ended with my littlest, Lane, throwing up all over the kitchen as we were eating dinner. Thursday was spent with him recuperating and me disinfecting the house from top to bottom. I definitely have bleach hands right now. You know, nice and dry and looking like they belong to an 80-year-old woman. After all of that cleaning, I’m 99% sure at least one other person(if not all of us…nooooo!!) in the house will get the “plague”. I hate the stomach bug with a passion. My dislike of it almost borders on an actual phobia but with three kids, it’s never going to escape us completely.
Fingers crossed that we get to enjoy the weekend being healthy because we have big plans to hit up a pumpkin patch on Saturday. No better way to kick off October, am I right?!
Fall decided to show its sweet side in my neck of the woods this week and it was lovely! We had a couple of days in the 70’s and I was cherishing every second of it. Early mornings are even down right chilly. The weather has me even more excited for my trip to NYC and oh my goodness, I am ready to shop for allllll the sweaters and booties!
Look how pretty the mums on my front porch are looking right now. I love all mums but yellow ones are so cheerful and pretty!
I’m going to go ahead and say it right now. I used to be a grocery store snob. Yeah, that’s right, I was happy to shop at Wal-Mart for groceries(big snob, huh!) but the idea of shopping at somewhere like Aldi completely turned me off. I think it was because 90% of the food at Aldi is a private label and some whacked out part of my brain thought that if it wasn’t “name brand” it must not be as good. Wrong, wrong, totally wrong.
I was wrong and I have no problem admitting it! While I have tried a few items that are just so-so, I have tried so many more that are fabulous. They also have the largest gluten-free section of any store I have seen and the prices aren’t marked up “just because”. I don’t eat gluten-free myself but for someone who does, this would be the place to shop. Did I mention that I save a lot of money, too? I can come out with a cart full and having only spent $100 or so. If anyone is interested in learning more about Aldi and which products I absolutely love and recommend(plus the ones to steer clear of) let me know!
They even have an entire section of baby supplies and they have worked great for us!
Pedestal Tables from World Market
My friend and I stopped by World Market last week to take a look around and I found the cutest little pedestal tables to put on each side of the sofa in my living room. I had been looking for something for months but I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot. I didn’t want them to be too heavy for the room and I needed child friendly. BINGO! I think they give the room a more completed look but they definitely need some styling. Of course, that may have to wait until Lane doesn’t want to touch and throw everything that he gets his hands on. These tables could really be cute in so many different places throughout the house so even if we eventually decide on something different for the living room, they will have a home for sure. Did I mention that with them being on sale and using a 15% off coupon the cost was only $35 each?! Oh yeah!!!
I colored my hair y’all! Sorry for the “selfie” but it’s honestly the only picture that I’ve taken with my hair fixed since I got it done over a week ago. Living that glamorous life of a stay at home mom. The selfie was actually taken minutes before leaving on a much-needed girls night out. It had been, well, way too long since our last one! Anyway, I am loving the darker hair because I think it makes those big ol’ brown eyes of mine pop but it is feeling a bit one-dimensional. I’m contemplating adding in just a few highlights to break it up a bit. What do you think?
Girls Night Out/Bridget Jones’s Baby
It wasn’t a wild night out but it sure was a fun one! A group of us went to the Movie Tavern on 7th street in Fort Worth to see Bridget Jones’s Baby and I laughed harder than I have laughed in SO long! I’m talking about belly laughing with tears in my eyes kind of funny. You have to see it!! Plus, I got to chow down on mini sliders, Buffalo wings and fries all from a comfy reclining chair. I mean, movie+ delicious food=perfection.
That’s going to wrap it up for me today but I would love for your to share some of your current favorites in the comments!
