No, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth, though if you follow this blog it may seem that way. What can I say, I obviously don’t do busy very well. Between three kids, a dog, a husband, a part time job and finding “me” time, there is just very little left over at the end of the day. I am hoping to find my “groove”, whatever that may be and at least post once per week from here on out. Key word is try….I make no promises.
But enough of that. I think the best way to catch you up is to just give you an overload of pictures and a few sentences here and there to catch you up on life over the last couple of months. Ready, set, go…….
This little boy has had three “birthday” months and is now five months old. I am not sure how five months have come and gone but goodness, that happened quickly. He rolls all around the house, is cutting his first tooth, scoots around trying to crawl AND is sleeping in his crib! That one should be a given right?! Not so much. Lane was sharing a bed with me and as much as I love him, I was ready to give him the boot. He still doesn’t sleep through the night but most nights he will give me a good five hour stretch. Oh, and he has started solids! I was going to hold off until 6 months but he started stalking every bite I took so we introduced it with doctor approval and he loves it. So far he has tried rice cereal, oat cereal, avocado and squash.
Liam turned SEVEN on March 26th. Again, now sure how that happened so quickly. What they say is true. “The days are long but the years move quickly”. He is my sweet and kind boy while still being all “boy”. If it has to do with sports, cars or guns he is allll about it. While driving around town doing errands, he finds it fun to name off every car symbol he sees. He.Knows.Them.All. I think he might take after Lance just a little bit! He is also losing teeth left and right. Currently, he has lost a total of 9 teeth. That boy is racking up the $$moolah$$!
And then there is Camryn. Miss Sassy is turning 10 in July so no birthday updates for her just yet. She is still playing guitar, though begrudgingly. She thinks it is boring and has decided she wants to do tumbling instead. I’m trying to help her understand that guitar is a talent she will be really proud of later on in life so quitting is not an option. As for tumbling, that may possibly be a Summer activity. Why not throw something else into the already crazy mix! Lance and Camryn are preparing for a 4th grade camping trip here in a couple of weeks. I wanted to go but since I am Lane’s food source that was not an option. It is probably a good thing though because daddy/daughter time is just as special.
As for me, I’m just trying to keep my head on straight most days. Life is BUSY but it is also really, really great right now. My body is finally starting to feel somewhat normal again after having Lane. My joints hurt less, my energy has improved and I am basically back at my pre-pregnancy weight. This doesn’t mean everything looks the same as before(it doesn’t) but I am giving myself some leniency there. I workout most days of the week, I eat healthy and I’m enjoying the occasional indulgence here and there.
I’m also trying to let go of some of my “OCD” ways. Let me tell you, I love a clean house. I’m pretty sure it is at the top of my list of things that make me happy so letting go of the ideal house is really hard. However, I don’t enjoy being a stress ball all the time either so I’m really working at changing my priorities. My house will always be somewhat tidy but if the windowsills aren’t dust free, I’m reminding myself that it isn’t the end of the world.
I’m looking forward to Summer and all the fun that comes with it. Swimming pools, picnic lunches(until it is 100+ degrees,) BBQ’s with friends, a beach trip and my Summer uniform of comfy shorts and flip flops!
